#65

There are now 65 days remaining until the Indiana Hoosiers kick-off the 2016 season in Miami against the Florida International Golden Panthers. Join us each day for each part of our 100-day countdown to the opener! Currently number 65 belongs to redshirt senior offensive lineman Wes Rogers.

Wes Rogers (Redshirt Senior)

-Height: 6’4”
-Weight: 305 pounds
-Hometown: Indianapolis, Indiana
-Position: Offensive Line

Rogers is a local product out of Lawrence Central in Indianapolis and signed with the Hoosiers as part of the 2012 recruiting class. At Lawrence Central, Rogers earned Indiana Associated Press Class 5A All-State and Indiana Football Coaches Association Top-50 honors as a senior. He also took home team MVP honors and all-county and all-city awards.

After redshirting his freshman season in 2012, Rogers played in five games, starting two, in 2013 on his way to earning honorable mention to the BTN.com All-Big Ten Freshman Team. During his sophomore campaign, he played in six games and started the final two. Last season Rogers only played in five games with no starts as Jake Reed took control of the center position.

Heading into his final season in Bloomington, Rogers has the inside track to be the starting center. He should, as a senior, have enough experience and knowledge of the line calls on offense to make the transition pretty quickly. However, there are freshman ready to jump in if needed.

Share any memories or recollections you have of Wes Rogers as a player in the comments section (or on the message boards) and be sure to come back to Hoosier Huddle each day during our countdown!
