#18

There are now 18 days remaining until the Indiana Hoosiers kick-off the 2016 season in Miami against the Florida International Golden Panthers. Join us each day for each part of our 100-day countdown to the opener! Today we look quarterback Danny Cameron. Ben Bach will also be wearing 18 this season, but we will profile him at number seven.

Danny Cameron (Redshirt Sophomore)

-    Height: 6’1”
-    Weight: 212 lbs.
-    Position: Quarterback
-    Hometown: Baton Rouge, Louisiana

Danny Cameron is a legacy at IU, his father Cam both played and coached for the Hoosiers. He came to Bloomington from Catholic High School in Baton Rouge, La. He redshirted his first year on campus in 2014 and played in one game last season in relief of an injured Zander Diamont against Penn State, where he completed six of 16 passes for 65 yards.

Cameron has been the third wheel in the Hoosiers quarterback competition heading into 2016. While Richard Lagow and Zander Diamont have been hogging the headlines, Cameron has shown a steady hand and arm and has stayed in the race. He has a chance to be a quality back up to whoever starts under center. He has looked consistent in camp and going in to his third year knows the offense well. He is a good player to have just in case one or both of the quarterbacks struggle or get injured.

Share any memories or recollections you have of Danny Cameron as a player in the comments section (or on the message boards) and be sure to come back to Hoosier Huddle each day during our countdown!
