Ah, we are reaching the end of the 70’s, but we are not done with the offensive linemen just yet. As we hit 71 days until Indiana’s 2017 season kicks off against Ohio State we take a look at a very important piece to IU’s offensive line, Number 71, Delroy Baker

Delroy Baker (Redshirt Junior)

-Height: 6’6”

-Weight: 305 pounds

-Hometown: Ocala, Florida

-Position: Offensive Line

Baker made his way to Bloomington as the 31st best offensive tackle in the country coming out of West Port High School in Ocala, Florida. He redshirted in 2014 and earned Scout Team Player of the Week against Ohio State.

As a redshirt freshman he made his college debut and only appearance of 2015 in IU’s 45-28 win over Maryland. Last season Baker had more of an impact for the Hoosiers. He played in nine games at right tackle and filled in well for an injured Brandon Knight.

The Hoosiers need Baker to live up to his billing coming out of high school. Right now, he is projected as the back up to Coy Cronk at left tackle according to Athlon Sports, but can be used at either tackle position. He can give the Hoosiers flexibility if they need to move someone around on the line or if the injury bug bites the line again. Baker is a very solid backup and will see the field a lot more in 2017, hopefully paving the way to the end zone for the IU offense.
