It is officially game week (I consider game week to be seven days out from the game)! All that stands between an IU Football game and us is seven days! Today we look at number seven Taysir Mack and number 29 Khalil Bryant who was formerly number seven.

Taysir Mack (Redshirt Freshman)

-Height: 6’2”

-Weight: 200 lbs

-Hometown: Brooklyn, NY

-Position: Wide Receiver

Mack was a late addition to the 2015 recruiting class out of New York, where he played for Grand Street Campus and earned all-state honors after catching 66 passes for 1,210 yards and 18 touchdowns.

In 2016 Mack redshirted for the Hoosiers and earned Scout Team Player of the Week honors for his efforts preparing for Nebraska.

Indiana’s wide receiving group is loaded in 2017 and Mack should be able to slide in with the second team behind Cobbs and Westbrook. At 6-foot-2, Mack has the size IU is looking for and will be a contributor this season and set up for a big 2018 season. Mack and Donavan Hale give the Hoosiers a really good second group of outside receivers as they both possess the speed and size to take the top off of a defense.

Khalil Bryant (Sophomore)

-Height: 5’10”

-Weight: 200 lbs

-Hometown: Jacksonville, Florida

-Position: Safety

Bryant came to Indiana from First Coast H.S. in Jacksonville where he was an all-conference performer as he had an outstanding senior year making 112 tackles, two interceptions, 17 pass breakups and three forced fumbles.

As a freshman, Bryant played in 11 of IU’s 13 games at both the safety position and on special teams where he made three total tackles.

In 2017, Bryant can be a contributor on special teams and see some time as a reserve safety. He has had a great offseason and it has shown in fall camp. Having Bryant in the secondary should help offset the loss of Bryant Fitzgerald who was ruled ineligible last week.
