Countdown to IUFB Kickoff: 26 Days (Josh Henderson)

Welcome to the 2022 edition of the Hoosier Huddle Countdown! We are now officially underway as we countdown from 100 to the beginning of the 2022 Indiana University football season. Each day, we will take a look at one (or two) players on the current roster and highlight the players' role in the upcoming season. Number 26 on the list is senior Josh Henderson.

With the loss of Stephen Carr this year, the Hoosiers will look to a new group of running backs to carry the load for the offense. IU has a recent strong history of good running backs and Josh Henderson will look to become one of those players.

The presumptive starter for the Hoosiers is Shaun Shivers but Henderson will be looking for touches as well in the backfield after transferring from North Carolina to the Hoosiers last year.

At UNC, Henderson rushed for 209 yards on 41 attempts (5.1 average). Henderson appeared in 23 games for the Tar Heels including a 98 yard game against Mercer during his freshman season. 

Henderson had a smaller role at UNC that included some play in special teams, but Henderson will look to make an impact on a revamped Hoosier offense that struggled mightily in the run game last season.
