#45
The Hoosier Huddle Countdown to Kick-off continues! There are now 45 days until the Indiana Hoosiers kick-off the 2017 season against the Ohio State Buckeyes. That seems like a long way away and I suppose it is, but this countdown will fly by and it will be football season before we know it! Today’s countdown takes a look at #45 Tom Bolstad.
Tom Bolstad (Redshirt Freshman)
-Height: 6’1”
-Weight: 225 pounds
-Hometown: University City, Missouri
-Position: Linebacker
Tom Allen wants to build his defense with versatile athletes that have produced in high school. Not every guy can come from a powerhouse program or football state, but a lot of these guys can still be big time producers. Bolstad put up awesome numbers in high school, and will help add to a pretty loaded linebacker group for this season. He redshirted last year and will have four years remaining, and his gritty attitude and versatility could allow him to see the field a good amount before his career wraps up. Here is his bio on IUHoosiers.com:
“Linebacker for head coach John Merritt at John Burroughs High School ... MaxPreps small schools first team All-American ... two-time first team all-state selection was named the 2015 Class 3 Defensive Player of the Year ... three-time all-district and all-conference honoree and two-time all-area selection ... closed his career as the school’s all-time tackles leader (437) ... recorded 300 solo stops, 13 sacks, 33 tackles for loss, five fumble recoveries and four interceptions ... team claimed the 2015 state championship ... three-year football and wrestling and four-year baseball letterwinner ... finished fifth (2016) and sixth (2015) at state in wrestling.”
