Countdown to 2020 IUFB Kickoff: 78 Days (Britt Beery)
/Written by Andrew Walker
With the approval of the preseason practice schedule, college football seems closer than ever. We are now 78 days away from the Indiana Hoosiers kicking off their season at Camp Randall Stadium to face Wisconsin. Today’s featured player is Britt Beery.
Name – Britt Beery
Position – Offensive Lineman
Hometown – Carmel, Indiana
Height – 6’6”
Weight – 307 pounds
Britt Beery is an Indiana guy with an absolutely great work ethic. Playing in 11 games last year and four the season before that, Beery has made quite the name for himself as a reliable offensive lineman. Beery will be a key part of a young offensive line that sees the loss of Hunter Littlejohn, Simon Stepaniak, DaVondre Love, and most notably Coy Cronk. The upside, however, is through the roof and will prove that the Hoosier offensive line is built for success.
Out of Carmel High School, Beery was ranked the no. 55 strong side defensive end nationally by 247sports.com. As team captain, he led Carmel to the 2016 6A state championship. The 6’6” defensive end then switched to offensive line during his redshirted first season at Indiana. During his time at Carmel, Beery was also a three year football and basketball letterwinner.
Beery comes into the 2020 season preparing for his Redshirt Junior season. The Hoosiers have a lot to look forward to when it comes to QB protection this season, and part of that has to do with Beery stepping into a more intensive role.
