Countdown to 2020 IUFB Kickoff: 40 Days (Cameron Williams)

We are only 40 days until the Hoosiers are scheduled to kick off against the Wisconsin Badgers in Madison. Today we profile linebacker Cameron Williams.

Name - Cameron WIlliams 

Position - Linebacker 

Year/Hometown - Redshirt Freshman from Merrillville, Ind

Height - 6’3” 

Weight - 225 pounds

The homegrown Hoosier is a part of what some call the “New Wave” of recruits. The new wave is the recruiting class of 2019. It is IU’s best class when it comes to rankings. 

At Andrean High School,  located in Merrillville, IN.  Williams dominated the field. The four-star prospect was a member of the 2018 All-USA Indiana team. Not only was Williams exceptional at football, but the superstar also qualified for state in track. The well-rounded athlete was nationally ranked. Rivals ranked Williams as the fourth best prospect in the state and the 11th best linebacker in the nation. Williams wants to make IU standout for football. 

“Coming into a DI program, especially with a big name like IU, I look to change the culture around completely. My class is called the new wave for a reason.” Williams told the IDS last July. 

Williams hopes to create change at IU. He strives  that the  2019 recruiting class can get IU to bowl games and beyond.
