EDITOR’S NOTE: Tim Weaver will be wearing number 73 for the 2019 season.

Ten weeks and a day remain until the long-awaited 2019 Indiana football season. The Hoosiers will make their season debut at Lucas Oil Stadium where they will take on the Ball State Cardinals on August 31st at noon.

For day 71 of the countdown, Hoosier Huddle would like to introduce you to someone’s name you should get familiar with— none other than the incoming freshman from the east, Tim Weaver.

Tim Weaver decided the Hoosier opportunity was worth the distance when it came down to making his college decision. The Hellerstown, Pennsylvania native made his public commitment to Indiana in early February, turning down the close-to-home offer from Rutgers and four other schools.

The offensive lineman’s high school resume boasts leadership and dedication to multiple sports and academics. Serving as team captain at Saucon Valley, the 6-foot-5 big man led his team to a 10-3 record and was selected to the Big 33 Classic and earned first team all-state honors his senior year. Weaver earned two all-area and all-conference honors in his time as a Panther, and the team picked up three district runner-up finishes and two conference championships in his four years as a letter-winner. In the off-season, he dedicated his time to lacrosse, wrestling, track and field, and honors classes.

Weaver’s weight is listed at 285 pounds with a sturdy frame to match. There’s no doubt that number will be higher after spending a few months with IU’s top notch performance coaches— Dr. Matt Rhea and David Ballou.

Weaver is all-around a great catch and a much-needed boost to the depth of the Hoosier offensive line.
