#54 – Coy Cronk (Senior)

Height: 6’5”

Weight: 321 Pounds

Hometown: Lafayette, Indiana

Position: Offensive Lineman (Left Tackle)

Coy Cronk is the very epitome of an iron man. Cronk has started in 36 games since he arrived on the Indiana campus. Cronk chose the Hoosiers over a bevy of offers, including one from his hometown school: Purdue. It’s always a treat when Indiana is able to go into enemy territory and walk away with a recruit. When Cronk committed to IU, the Hoosiers knew they were getting a seriously talented player.

Anchoring the left tackle spot his entire career, Cronk will do more of the same in 2019. Throughout his three-year career, the Hoosiers have ranked top-three in the conference in passing offense. His protection of the quarterback’s blind spot is pivotal to Indiana’s passing attack. Although his primary responsibility will be at left tackle, Cronk is so athletic he can slide around front line.

With the addition of new offensive coordinator Kalen DeBoer, the Hoosiers plan to throw the ball downfield more often. Cronk’s passing protection will be essential to make Indiana’s new offense work. Utilizing Cronk’s athleticism, DeBoer will employ a lot of plays out of the pistol formation. This opens up the door for misdirection runs, cutbacks, and more. While the balanced attacked of run/pass will remain relatively similar, IU hopes to be more creative and dynamic of the offensive end. Coy Cronk will have a chance to really shine as a senior. If he plays well enough he could be on his way to the pros.
