Countdown to 2019 IUFB Kickoff: 43 Days (D.K. Bonhomme)
/Written by Sammy Jacobs (@Hoosier_Huddle)
2019 Countdown - #43
Name – D.K. Bonhomme
Position – Linebacker (Freshman)
Hometown – Ottawa, Ontario (Clearwater Academy International (Florida))
Height – 6’3”
Weight – 238
The Hoosiers reached down to Florida, specifically Clearwater Academy International, to get a linebacker who was a hit at the Best of the Midwest Combine in D.K. Bonhomme. Originally from Ottawa, Ontario, Bonhomme had a huge senior year in 2018 as he posted 100 tackles, 22 tackles for loss and forced three fumbles. He helped lead Clearwater Academy to an 11-0 record.
Bohomme has the size to see the field as a freshman, but his play will have to earn him a spot. One thing he has going for him is “my speed," Bonhomme said in a summer interview with IUHoosiers.com. "I can run. I can move sideline to sideline. That's a good thing for me."
The Hoosiers have some young and experienced talent in from of Bonhomme, but Tom Allen has insisted that building depth is a priority and with the current redshirt rule, don’t be surprised if Bonhomme is a guy who will see action in four games to get experience under his belt.
