Countdown to IUFB Kickoff: 84 Days (T.J. Ivy)
Height: 6’5’’
Weight: 217 pounds
Hometown: Chicago, Illinois (Marist)
Year: Freshman
Position: Tight End
Last minute decisions landed Indiana a gamechanger and TJ Ivy a place to change the game. Ivy’s trusting relationship in Coach Allen sealed the deal for the him to step away from a college football career at West Virginia University. Ivy made his decision official in the early signing period and just 4 days after decommitting from the Mountaineers.
The Marist graduate ended his high school football career with 20 catches for 321 yards, 7 of which he turned into touchdowns. His quick snap and vertical earned him Rival’s 25th place honors for Illinois football recruits. 247Sports.com has Ivy at 61st in the country for the tight end position. With rather large shoes to fill in place of Ian Thomas, Ivy knows strength and speed will get coach Allen's attention and earn him a spot. Ivy, with his size and skill set will have a chance to get on the field as a true freshman. His role may be limited this year, but starting in 2019, Ivy could muscle his way into the two-deep at tight end.
