Countdown to IUFB Kickoff- 79 Days Aidan Rafferty
Weight: 286 pounds
Hometown: Washington, D.C.
Position: Offensive Tackle
One position group in which depth isn’t the Hoosiers biggest concern is the offensive line (assuming everyone stays healthy). Indiana returns all their starters from last season as well as adds a grad transfer at center, Nick Linder. They also have two incoming freshman at offensive tackle, one a big-time player out of the DC area, Aidan Rafferty.
Rafferty is an impressive three star commit for the Hoosiers out of Gonzaga High School with incredible size at six-foot-six, 286 pounds. He was ranked seventh in the state by ESPN and the 604th best player in the country. Rafferty held 23 offers, including 12 from Power Five teams, and chose Indiana over Boston College, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Pitt and Arizona among others.
Due to the depth the Hoosiers already have on the offensive line it is likely that he will red-shirt the 2018 season but he will have the opportunity to fight for a starting spot in 2019. With his size and ability, Rafferty will add depth and provide a solid foundation at the line of scrimmage for the Indiana offense and allow for production in the run game.
