Countdown to Kickoff: #58– Jake Ostrowski
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 220 pounds
Hometown: Greenwood, IN (Carol)
Class/Position: RS SO/OL
Jake Ostrowski transferred to Indiana University in 2016 after spending a year at Ball State. The Fort Wayne, Indiana native played on the defensive line at Carroll High School under head coach Doug Dinan. Ostrowski notched 46 tackles and seven sacks as a senior, earning All-Conference honors in the process. Carroll High went 11-1 and won the state title in 2015. Ostrowski took his talents to Ball State, where he redshirted as a freshman.
Ostrowki transferred to Indiana University and joined the football program as a walk-on. He will compete for playing time on a loaded defensive front. The Hoosiers have a sufficient amount of depth on the defensive line despite the departures of Greg Gooch and Robert McCray. At this position group, IU has experience combined with some very intriguing young talent.
It will be a challenge for Ostrowski to earn consistent playing time, but he will provide depth in the trenches – where it is supremely important to have depth in the Big Ten. Jake Ostrowski hopes to elevate his game to Big Ten levels of physicality and speed. He will help the Hoosiers any way he can.
