Countdown to 2018 IUFB Kickoff: 38 Days (Connor Thomas and Jeremy Boyd)

Position: Running Back
Today in the countdown we highlight two players on opposite sides of the ball. The first, redshirt sophomore running back, Connor Thomas. Thomas is a walk-on from Clarksville Academy where he played linebacker and running back under head coach Todd Hood. Thomas holds the school single-game rushing touchdown record (with 5) and he tallied 1,619 all purpose yards and 25 touchdowns as a senior.
As a Hoosier he appeared in 5 games during the 2017 season and had 3 rushes for 6 yards. He made his collegiate debut in the win over Georgia Southern. He saw a lot of action in the cream and crimson scrimmage this past spring and we will get to see where he fits into the depth chart with this group of running backs.
Jeremy Boyd
Height: 5’ 9’’
Weight: 180 Pounds
Hometown: Indianapolis, Indiana
Year: Redshirt Freshman Position: Defensive Back
The second player, a redshirt freshman from Indianapolis, Jeremy Boyd. Boyd walked on and joined during the season and then redshirted the 2017 season. He is a former teammate at Ben Davis High School of IU defensive lineman LeShaun Minor Jr and Reese Taylor. He holds the power clean record of 300 pounds for the 160-180 pound weight class at Ben Davis. We will get to see more of Boyd throughout the rest of the summer and into fall camp.
