With numerous upperclassmen along the 2019 Indiana offensive line, upgrading the position was an important part of the 2020 signing class. They found a ferocious future option in Dwenger’s Luke Wiginton.
Wiginton primarily plays right tackle in high school but will have the flexibility to move to the interior of the line in college. In a run-dominant high school scheme, he has the technique down for run-blocking. His pass protection would be a weaker point, but he shows the athleticism to be a quick learner in Indiana’s pass-heavy offensive attack. Already at 275 pounds, it is not out of the question for Ballou to get Wiginton to 300 by the time fall camp begins.
Wiginton starts the play ready to attack his defender, showing numerous occasions when the defensive lineman ends up on his back. He’s physical from the start and focuses on working his way up field.
Wiginton will enroll early and be on campus for the second semester of classes this year.
