For Brady Feeney, Indiana was “Right up His Alley”

Both Brady Feeney and the Indiana offense line won big last Sunday when Feeney flipped from Rice University and verbally committed to carry his football career to Indiana. Feeney received his first offer to play power five football and immediately decided Bloomington would be home following his senior year at Christian Brothers College High School in St. Louis, Missouri.

“Indiana stood out to me because I felt at home,” Feeney told Hoosier Huddle, “The atmosphere was right up my alley, and I could see myself at this university for the next four to five years. It was just as much of a gut instinct as it was a practical choice. I knew I could get an amazing education at Indiana, I knew I would be playing power five football, but I feel like it is just as important to feel at home.”

The Class of 2020 guard brings to Indiana a huge passion for aggressive football— the kind that fits Allen’s mold of a Hoosier offensive lineman to a tee.

“I like to play nasty and quick,” Feeney told Hoosier Huddle, “I like to play very aggressive and be the first person to the point of attack. I take pride in being called the biggest bully on the football field. You aren’t supposed to be nice in the game of football.”

Having heard about Indiana’s elite strength and conditioning program headed by David Ballou and Dr. Matt Rhea, Feeney was totally sold on Indiana being the place he could really develop as a college football player. Growing Feeney’s current 6’5’’ 315-pound stature will add a massive threat to the IU O-line.

Since he is 100 percent committed to play at IU, Feeney has zeroed in on his priority as a CBC senior, and it is not your typical “get bigger and stronger”.

“Of course I could get stronger and quicker, but as a senior who has been a four-year starter my biggest goal is to become a leader of my team,” Feeney said, “In the past, I’ve been lucky to play with some very talented people at CBC. While I’ve never been someone to back down from a challenge, I’ve primarily been a leader by example. Now, I am trying to become more of a vocal leader, and a captain of my team.”

As an honors student with a perfect GPA, lead trumpet player for CBC’s jazz band and a multi-sport athlete, Feeney is all-around an incredible asset for the Hoosiers in 2020 and beyond.
