CHICAGO, Ill. – As the Big Ten Network begins its 10th year on-air, BTN president Mark Silverman today announced the network’s new lineup of original programming at Big Ten Football media day.
Fresh off an appearance in the College Football Playoff, the Michigan State Spartans football team will allow BTN behind-the-scenes for Green and White Days: Inside Michigan State Training Camp. The show will follow Mark Dantonio’s Spartans through a portion of pre-season practice as they prepare to defend their Big Ten crown while replacing a number of key contributors. Green and White Days will debut on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 7 p.m. ET, and follows the success of last year’s Scarlet and Gray Days: Inside Ohio State Training Camp.
In the largest programming initiative in network history, BTN will take its college football pregame coverage on the road in 2016 with the debut of BTN Tailgate. BTN Tailgate will begin at 10:30 a.m. ET and is a live, 90-minute show originating from a different Big Ten campus each week during conference play. BTN Tailgate will be Big Ten football fans’ home this fall with previews, highlights, special guests and analysis from host Dave Revsine and BTN’s football experts Gerry DiNardo and former Chicago Bears defensive tackle Anthony Adams. Dairy Queen, GEICO, Navistar, Slim Jim, TIAA and U.S. Cellular have all signed on as sponsors of the show, as well as the surrounding fan experience.
Sports Lite with Mike Hall debuts on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 11 p.m. ET as BTN’s first late-night offering. Host Mike Hall and correspondents in both Los Angeles and New York will deliver an unbuttoned take on Big Ten events and personalities from coast-to-coast. Featuring original features, exclusive interviews and a focus on personality, Hall showcases the Big Ten, the only true national conference, in a whole new lite.
Debuting on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 10 p.m. ET is Campus Eats, a first-hand look at the unique and iconic restaurants found across the Big Ten. From Nebraska to New Jersey, Campus Eats hosts Troy Johnson and Jenny Dell take you inside local establishments and introduce you to the people, attractions and meals that are beloved on campus. Each of the eight episodes will have a different theme, including burgers, pizza, sandwiches, breakfast, dessert, campus institutions, food trucks and parents weekend.
