2024 WR Jeremy Bell commits to Indiana

Indiana continued a strong summer on the recruiting trail on Wednesday night, landing Georgia three-star WR Jeremy Bell after he took an official visit in late June.

Bell checks in at 6’0” 175lbs and has played both inside and out for his high school program, flashing traits that could make him a good all-around wide receiver. Watching his film, his two strengths at this point would include the first step off the ball to get open, and his run after the catch ability.

While his offer list doesn’t jump off the page at you, Coach Allen in the last two classes has identified plenty of under the radar targets that he and the staff feel will develop into quality players. IU grabbed Bell over Vandy, Coastal Carolina, App State and others, with IU and Vandy being the only Power 5 offers. He has solid tape from a great football state and a good frame, but IU is banking on getting in on him early before he develops and other teams get in on the chase.

Bell becomes the third WR in the 2024 class for Indiana, joining 6’3” Tennessee native Charlie Becker and dynamic 5’10” slot option Javier “JayJay” Etheridge. This commit continues a pattern that has been evident since Walt Bell joined the staff in terms of the wide receiver position for Coach Allen. WR’s are either big targets that can make contested catches on the outside, or more dynamic athletes that can create space in the slot and over the middle of the field. New WR coach Anthony Tucker has a very interesting room to work with this season in Bloomington, and the types of bodies and athletes they have targeted in this class show a clear plan in motion.

Bell becomes the 15th commit in IUFB’s 2024 class, which currently sits at 55th in the country, per 247 Sports.
