2023 Countdown to IUFB Kickoff: 6 Days (Cam Camper)

Written by: Sammy Jacobs (@Hoosier_Huddle)

The 2023 edition of the Hoosier Huddle Countdown is officially underway! We are counting down from 100 to the beginning of the 2023 Indiana University football season. Each day, we will look at one (or two) players on the current Indiana football roster and highlight the player’s role in the upcoming season. Today’s profile features wide receiver Cam Camper.

Name: Cam Camper

Hometown: Lancaster, Texas (Lancaster)

Position: Wide Receiver

Year: Senior

Height/Weight: 6’2”/195 pounds

Camper was on his way to a 1,000-yard season when he was lost for the season against IU’s 24-17 loss to Rutgers. Camper came to IU from Trinity Valley Community College and instantly became a favorite target.

Camper was limited in the spring as he recovered from his injury but has practiced during fall camp. He may be on a snap count to start the year, but all indications are he will be ready to go for the season opener.

“I think Cam has been great. I knew about Cam before I got here, just through recruiting. I got the opportunity to evaluate him before he chose to come here. Cam’s been a great leader and great model in our room. He’s made his way back and worked really, really hard. He’s looked great, I am really pleased with him.” Indiana wide receiver coach Anthony Tucker said during fall camp.

If Camper can play a full year, he should once again be in the running for a 1,000-yard season. A feat that has not been accomplished since 2019 (Whop Philyor).

The Hoosier Huddle Countdown to Kickoff rolls on with Day 5 tomorrow!
