2023 Countdown to IUFB Kickoff: 42 Days (Darryl Minor)

Written by: Sammy Jacobs (@Hoosier_Huddle)

The 2023 edition of the Hoosier Huddle Countdown is officially underway! We are counting down from 100 to the beginning of the 2023 Indiana University football season. Each day, we will take a look at one (or two) players on the current Indiana football roster and highlight the player’s role in the upcoming season. Today’s profile features redshirt transfer linebacker Darryl Minor.

Name: Darryl Minor

Hometown: Corinth, TX (Lake Dallas)

Position: Linebacker

Year: Senior

Height/Weight: 6’0”/220 pounds

Darryl Minor joins his brother Kobee at IU after a year at UTEP and two years at junior college. Out of high school Minor went to Tyler Junior College where he was a standout linebacker for two seasons. He played in. 20 games for Tyler and amassed 156 total tackles and led the team in tackles for loss in 2021 with 21.

Minor only played in three games at UTEP and did not record any statistics in those games. However, he should play a bigger role at IU in 2023. With Bradley Jennings and Cam Jones graduated, Minor could play his way into the rotation at linebacker, especially if he can be as close to as productive as he was at Tyler.

The Hoosier Huddle Countdown to Kickoff rolls on with Day 41 tomorrow!
