/Written by: Sammy Jacobs (@Hoosier_Huddle)
The 2023 edition of the Hoosier Huddle Countdown is officially underway! We are counting down from 100 to the beginning of the 2023 Indiana University football season. Each day, we will take a look at one (or two) players on the current Indiana football roster and highlight the player’s role in the upcoming season. Today’s profile features redshirt junior defensive back Connor Hole.
Name: Connor Hole
Hometown: Jamestown, IN (Western Boone)
Position: Running Back
Year: Redshirt Freshman
Height/Weight: 5’11”/180 pounds
Hole is another in-state walk-on who was a very productive player in high school. Hole was a four-year starter, team captain and an all-state selection in his time at Western Boone. He helped them to back-to-back state titles as well.
Hole joined the IU football program in 2020 and has been a standout on the scout team for special teams. Hole’s efforts were rewarded last season with playing time against Idaho.
Hole is one of those players a program needs. He set his high school’s record for punt return yardage (411) and punt returns (22) in a single season. On defense totaled 240 tackles, 13.5 for loss, with nine interceptions, 15 pass breakups, and three forced fumbles in his career. He could find his way into more special teams playing time in 2023.
The Hoosier Huddle Countdown to Kickoff rolls on with Day 32 tomorrow!
