2022 Countdown to IUFB Kickoff- 97 Days (Jake Wellman)

The Hoosier Huddle countdown is now underway! Over the next 100 days, we at Hoosier Huddle will feature every player from the 2022 roster in anticipation of Indiana’s first game of the season against Illinois in Bloomington. Today, we’ll key in on long snapper Jake Wellman.

Position: Long Snapper

Wellmann will look to get some playing time this upcoming season after walking into the program in Fall 2020 camp. He is second on the depth chart to Sean Wracher #95, who has started the past three seasons. This will be Wellmann's third year in the program.  Out of Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, Wellmann was the #19 ranked Long Snapper according to Kohl’s Kicking and Snapping Academy. During this camp, Wellmann ran a 4.95 40 time and had an average snap of .7 seconds. At Warren Central, Wellmann used his big physical frame where he played Tackle and Guard. Wellmann earned Academic All-Big Ten Honors this past season.
