2022 Countdown to IUFB Kickoff: 95 Days (Sean Wracher)
/Written by Sammy Jacobs (@Hoosier_Huddle)
The Hoosier Huddle countdown to kickoff is underway! We hit day 95 and will be taking a look at one of the key parts of Indiana’s special teams units, long snapper Sean Wracher.
Sean Wracher (Senior)
Hometown: Akron, Ohio
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 199 Pounds
Position: Long Snapper
Twitter: (@SeanWracher95) Instagram: (@seanwracher)
Wracher enters his senior season as one of the best long snappers in the Big Ten conference. The former five-star long snapping prospect has lived up to the billing as he was a preseason all-conference selection by Phil Steele last season.
He has played 33 games over the last three seasons and has helped both kicker Charles Campbell and former punter Haydon Whitehead earn all-conference honors. Although there really are no stats to show his success, Wracher is a vital part of IU’s special teams and he does have two career tackles.
Indiana special teams coach Kasey Teegardin had this to say about Wracher back in April. "I stand by my statements that I think he is the best long snapper in the country. I am really challenging him to take the next step. He was a little inconsistent last year, as we all were, so owning that and trying to give him more leadership."
So when you are watching IU line up for an important field goal, extra point or punt, fans can feel at ease that the snap will get there quickly and accurately.
