/Written by Andrew Walker
The Hoosier Huddle 100 day countdown more than a quarter finished and we’re moving right along. Omar Cooper Jr. is the topic of our next discussion in the countdown. Cooper is a Freshman from Indianapolis, Indiana, and he’s ready to make his impact for the Hoosiers.
Name: Omar Cooper Jr.
Hometown: Indianapolis, IN
Position: WR
Year: Freshman
Height: 6’1
Weight: 185
An alma mater of Lawrence North High School, Cooper joins the Indiana Hoosiers as a four-star prospect at wide receiver. He’s rated as the no. 155 prospect nationally, as well as being the no. 22 wide receiver nationally. Cooper is joining a wide receiver room full of talent, joining the likes of Javon Swinton and DJ Matthews Jr, both being veterans of the program.
Overall, the Hoosier receivers is a relatively young group. Cooper should be able to find his place among the depth chart for Indiana quite well come fall camp.
Cooper’s high school career is nothing to scoff at either. Being named a top 50 all-state selection by the Indiana Football Coaches Association (IFCA) is no small feat. He finished his career with 132 receptions for 2,856 yards and 22 touchdowns.
