Katic is a big returning piece for an offensive line that struggled at times last season protecting the quarterback. The redshirt junior started nine games at left guard last season missing three games due to injury.
During his sophomore season Katic started four games also at left guard and appeared in six games as well. That season Indiana led the big ten in fewest sacks allowed. Katic also won newcomer of the year for Tom Allen’s Hoosiers.
Katic redshirted his freshman year but won scout player of the week twice during his time on the scout team.
As an all-state selection in high school, Katic led his team to a state championship game and a state semi final game as well.
Katic, who will also be battling for his spot in the starting lineup after a rough 2021 season, will look to take more of a leadership role on a young Hoosiers team that is going to have a new look offensive line with the departure of Caleb Jones.
