The Hoosier Huddle Countdown to Kickoff rolls on to day 53 and offensive lineman Vinny Fiacable. We are nearly halfway home!

Vinny Fiacable (Redshirt Freshman)

Hometown: Ft. Wayne, Indiana

Height: 6’4”

Weight: 309 Pounds

Position: Offensive Line

Vinny Fiacable is a familiar name for Hoosier fans as his father Steve was an offensive lineman was an offensive lineman for the Hoosiers from 1988-91 and both his older brothers played for IU as well, Steve OL (2009-10) and Mike was a backup quarterback with the program from 2015-18.

Coming out of Bishop Dwenger H.S. Fiacable was a highly touted in-state recruit. He was a 2020 Indiana Football Coaches Association Top 50 all-state selection and an all-conference selection.

After redshirting in 2021, Fiacable could find his way into the starting lineup with a good fall camp as IU is looking to revamp the offensive line. Tom Allen said during the spring that Fiacable is a player “that we're counting on to be able to give us some really solid depth in the interior of our offensive line.”

The Hoosiers need all the help they can get on the interior of the line and if Fiacable gives them the best chance to win, there could be a major youth movement in that position room.
