The 2022 Hoosier Huddle Countdown has reached day 22 and we return to the “former player” well once more for a profile on a former IU player and current big-time supporter of IU football: Greg Farrall.

Name: Greg Farrall

A native of Ohio that grew up in a family that loved football, Greg Farrall came to Indiana University by way of Culver Academy. The linebacker was recruited by IU’s head coach, Bill Mallory and he made the most of his opportunity. From 1988 to 1991, Farrall starred for the legendary head coach. He notched 22 sacks from 1988 to 1991 with eight a piece in both 1989 and 1991. All three of those figures still place in the top ten ranks on the school’s records lists. He cherished his time at IU, learning both on and off the field from “Coach Mal”.

“I mean, it’s amazing how fast time flies,” Farrall told Hoosier Huddle in a recent interview. “He (Bill Mallory) really is a second father to so many of us, including myself.”

After college, Farrall ended up in Chicago as a trader. He worked with the Boys and Girls Club in Bloomington while in college and was changed by that experience. His work in the community continued as he drove to Culver to coach football, coached youth baseball in the area and eventually becoming immersed in the United Way charity organization. He has served on the board and as a Leadership Chair. He was also the Campaign Chair for the United Way of Porter County’s “Be The One” drive. All the while, Farrall ran his successful business as the CEO of Farrall Wealth. He remained engaged with the program he fell in love with as a player and has tried to help IU football in whatever ways he can.

“I’m a believer, I believe in the program,” Farrall told Hoosier Huddle. He hosts a large tailgate at home games and his daughter is a photographer that has been involved with IU football’s player pictures. She also draws or illustrates graphic designs used by Indiana University Athletics on the jumbotron during events. Although he was born in Ohio, Greg Farrall is a Hoosier through and through. He excelled as a player on the field, has been wildly successful as a businessman and has helped multiple charity organizations, improving the lives of countless individuals around him.
