Welcome, Hoosiers fans to the 2022 Hoosier Huddle Countdown! We countdown from 100 days to the beginning of the 2022 Indiana University football season on September 2nd against the Fighting Illini. Every day, we look at players on the current roster and highlight the players' roles in the upcoming season. Today we dive into DB Josh Sanguinetti.

Name: Josh Sanguinetti

Hometown: Lauderdale Lakes, Florida

Position: Defensive Back

Year: Redshirt Junior

Height/Weight: 6-1/ 185

Sanguinetti burst onto the scene last year against Cincinnati making 6 tackles against the Bearcats. He appeared in multiple games in his redshirt year (2019) and earned scout team player of the week honors against Ohio State. The Covid 2020 season Sanguinetti played in six games tallying eight tackles and one pass breakup.

Last season, Sanguinetti was a factor when he was on the field. He made two starts and playing in eight games. His biggest play came against Michigan State when he had a pick.

Out of University High School Sanguinetti was a sought-after recruit. He earned first-team all-state

and owned the record for 24 interceptions at his high school. He was an ESPN 4-Star recruit and #25 Safety on their rankings.

Josh provides good size and presence when on the field. Let’s hope he can put it all together this season.
