38 days remain until kickoff of the 2021 IU football season. The Hoosiers will kick off the season against Iowa on Sept. 4th. Make sure to keep checking the Hoosier Huddle website each day for a new player in the 100-day countdown. The 38th player is incoming freshman Jordan Grier.
Jordan Grier
Height: 6’0’’
Weight: 193 pounds
Hometown: Ellenwood, GA.
Position: Defensive Back
In high school Grier was all-state and all-region during his junior year. In addition, he recorded four pick-6s and 56 tackles as a junior.
Grier has already begun adjusting to college ball. He began to gain some wait and had upperclassmen help him learn the playbook.
“I am gaining a lot of knowledge from the older guys. Guys like Monster [Devon Matthews], Bryson Bonds, and Raheem Layne. They are coaching me up and coaching me through the playbook where I am supposed to be and when I need to be there. What I gained so far is a lot of weight,” Grier said during his summer press conference.
Grier is also from Georgia and hadn’t been to Indiana before this summer, but said one of the biggest reasons he chose Indiana was because of head coach Tom Allen.
“I didn't know anything coming into IU. I have never been to Indiana or Bloomington before. It was a big jump. A big leap taking on coach Tom Allen's word and believing in what he was saying. Everyone wants to be coached by a guy like Coach Allen. He has everything that I am looking for in a college coach,” Grier said.
Grier will look to provide depth to IU’s secondary while continuing to grow and adjust to college football this season.
