The Hoosier Huddle Countdown continues! The season is less than 40 days away, and fans cannot wait to see this team on the field. Indiana Football will open up their 2021 season at Iowa City to take on the #16 ranked Hawkeyes on September 4th. Both teams have been putting in a ton of work to prepare for the season and are excited to take the field in front of a FULL-STADIUM. Today, we are profiling running back Chris Childers.

Childers comes as a transfer where he played two years for the Indiana State program. Childers is versatile; during his tenure, he played in 19 games running the ball, catching passes, and returning kickoffs.
In his high school, Childers played football, baseball, and ran track and field. He earned first all-team conference honors at St. Rita High School, rushing for over 1500 yards and 20 touchdowns.
Last season, he debuted in the Outback bowl against Ole Miss. During the season, he earned many scout team honors. Earning special teams’ player of the year, offensive scout team player of the week against Penn State, and special teams scout player of the week against Michigan State.
This season the running back will look to get reps on special teams and maybe a carry now and then under a deep unit. He is experienced and a vet which gives him an advantage over some running backs.
