2021 Countdown to Kickoff: 25 Days (Will Jontz)

25 days remain until kickoff of the 2021 IU football season. The Hoosiers will kick off the season against Iowa on Sept. 4th. Make sure to keep checking the Hoosier Huddle website each day for a new player in the 100-day countdown. The 25th player is red-shirt sophomore Will Jontz.

Will Jontz

Height: 6’3’’

Weight: 224 pounds

Hometown: Brighton, MI

Position: Quarterback

Jontz is a walk-on for the program and runs the scout team a lot during practice. With Penix, Tuttle, and McCulley on the roster, Jontz will not receive any playing time this season. However, his value lies in his scout team reps. 

During his freshman year, Jontz won the scout team player of the week two times, during the Ball State and Nebraska week. He also won it during the Ohio State week last season.

Jontz is a very talented individual as he was All-academic Big-Ten and also holds the record for the 4x200 relay at his school.

Jontz will look to continue to be a valuable member of the quarterbacks room as well as scout team during the season.
