The Hoosier Huddle Countdown continues! The season is less than 20 DAYS AWAY; fans, coaches, players, and our staff cannot wait to see this team on the field.  This rising football will open their 2021 season at Iowa to take on the #16 ranked Hawkeyes on September 4th. Both teams have been putting in a ton of work to prepare for the season and are excited to take the field in front of a FULL-STADIUM. Today, we are profiling Freshman Receiver, Jordyn Williams.

Jordyn Williams - @jordynwms2021

Hometown: Albany, Ga.

Position: WR

Year: Redshirt: Freshman

Height/Weight: 6-1/184

An ESPN four-star prospect and three-star prospect, according to https://247sports.com/player/jordyn-williams-46057073/ Williams, was a sought-affect recruit for Tom Allen’s program. A receiver in the 2021 class, Williams decided to attend the program over offers from Alabama and Coastal Carolina. He was the No.63 ranked receiver in the nation and had a remarkable high school career. In his first three years, he attended Westover High School in Georgia. Then he decided to transfer to Trinity Christian in Texas to play under former Pro-Bowler Deion Sanders, who called plays for the offense. Under Sanders, Williams took his game to the next level, where he caught 50 passes, 10 of which were touchdowns, and totaled 1,446 yards. Williams loves the big moments, and in one of their games on ESPN, he had a game of a lifetime catching ten passes for 202 yards and one touchdown.

Williams is an all-around athlete who ran track and field and played basketball, earning honors in both sports. Williams does not have the fastest speed compared to some of the top wideouts in the B10, but he separates himself by his route running and separation. This can be seen in his highlights while at Trinity his senior year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUnSVTHMHEc. There’s more to like about the guy watching his film on https://www.hudl.com/profile/9650713/Jordyn-Williams. It is important to note that Williams received an offer from Alabama who has been able to develop and recruit some of the best receivers in the nation in the past decade with guys like Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs, Julio Jones, and Calvin Ridley. There are guys that I left off too! Alabama would not be wasting their time if they did not think that Williams has NFL talent and room to develop.

At Indiana, Williams enrolled early, missing his second semester of high school to enroll in spring classes and participate in practices. This will help him as fall camp continues as he will have already had a good sense of the offensive scheme and what coaches will be expecting from him. There is a good chance that Williams could get some playing time this season. Although he was not listed on the pre-season depth chart, this does not mean he will not see the field this season. I’m sure that Williams wants to playing time. He does not want to sit because if he did, he would have chosen Alabama. All that aside, Williams has the potential to become one of the best receivers this program has ever had. With all-conference guys like Ty Fryfogle and Peyton Hendershot alongside him this year, he will learn and develop. When the time comes, HE WILL BE READY.
