2021 Countdown to Kickoff: 12 Days Part I (Da'Shaun Brown)
/Written by Andrew Walker
The Hoosier Huddle 100 day countdown is nearing completion, and with it comes the start of the new season. Today, we’re taking a look at Da’Shaun Brown out of Racine, Wisconsin.
Name: Da’Shaun Brown
Hometown: Racine, Wisconsin
Position: Wide Receiver
Year: Redshirt Sophomore
Height/Weight: 6’ 2”/180 pounds
After redshirting the 2019 season and earning scout team player twice, Da’Shaun Brown was ready to make some moves among the receiving corps depth chart. He played in two games, but unfortunately suffered an ACL injury against the Wolverines that sidelined him for the rest of the 2020 season. This season, however, Brown is poised and ready to start where he left off last year.
Brown’s high school experience was far from typical for a current receiver. Playing QB and DB in high school, Brown was a three-year starter accounted for 8,342 yards of total offense and 121 touchdowns. He threw for 4,566 yards with 66 TDs and 20 interceptions in 34 games and rushed for 3,776 yards with a 10.7 average per carry and an 111.1 average per game. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, Brown also made 63 tackles, four for loss, one sack, one interception, and two forced fumbles in 26 career games on defense while leading St. Catherine’s to the program’s first state championship in 2018.
