Beau Robbins, 6’4”, 238 pounds, Carmel, IN (Carmel HS), WDE, 247Sports Composite Ranking: 4-star (90.6)

Tom Allen has made the defensive line a major priority since arriving in Bloomington. He and his staff know the Hoosiers must be stout and deep in that unit if they are to survive in the Big Ten East. While they have yet to find a true standout pass rusher, they have improved the depth and the overall skill of the defensive line and they have secured the addition of a four-star weak-side end from Carmel as Beau Robbins signed with the Hoosiers. Robbins is the fourth ranked recruit in the state and the 17th-ranked weak-side defensive end in the country.

Robbins is 6’4” and nearly 240 pounds and he already looks the part of a Big Ten pass rusher. He has good timing and instincts at the snap and gets into the backfield quickly. Whether or not he can succeed at a high level in 2019 will largely depend on how quickly he develops his strength and his ability to help against the run. IU is pretty deep at the position but I expect Robbins is going to play more than four games in his freshman season and contributes this coming year.

He chose Indiana fairly early in the process and no school besides the Hoosiers was ever considered a favorite for his services. Arkansas and Boston College both pursued him but the Indiana native ultimately chose to stay home and join the 2019 recruiting class.
