Countdown to Kickoff: 71 Days (Delroy Baker)

Written By Sammy Jacobs (@Hoosier_Huddle)

Happy Friday Hoosier Nation! We are just 10 weeks away from Game Day Eve and in honor of day number 71 of our Countdown to Kickoff we will introduce you to Hoosier offensive lineman Delroy Baker.

Name: Delroy Baker

HT/WT: 6’6” 305 lbs.

Position: Offensive Line

Year: Red Shirt Freshman

Hometown: Ocala, FL

Career Highlights:

Baker chose to play for the Hoosiers over powerhouse programs such as Florida, Florida State, and Miami. He arrived early on campus to take part in spring practice in 2014, but ended up redshirting the 2014 season as IU had plenty of depth along the offensive line. While spending the 2014 season in the weight room and the practice field Baker earned scout team player of the week for the Ohio State game.

2015 Outlook:

Baker is an intriguing player for IU this year as he should be able to log plenty of snaps along the line.  At 6-foot-6, 295-pounds, Baker possesses the prototypical size a coach would look for as a future bookend at offensive tackle. While left tackle is well manned with Spriggs, Baker should be in play for the back up blindside spot or right tackle.
