The first quarter of the Indiana football season is complete, and the Hoosiers find themselves a bit behind preseason expectations. However, there is still much of the season left to play and plenty of time to bounce back from a rocky start. A week removed from the disappointing home loss to Cincinnati, Indiana must now focus its attention to the road battle it will have this week against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

Remembering IU’s 2015 Shootout with Western Kentucky

Written by: TJ Inman (@TJHoosierHuddle)
The job of then head coach Kevin Wilson was very much on the line as Indiana entered the 2015 season. Despite some gaudy offensive performances, IU had failed to put together consistent on-field competency and fans were growing increasingly restless with the continued subpar performance of the program. The Hoosiers survived in week one against Southern Illinois and then muddled their way through a win over Florida International before a very talented Western Kentucky squad came to Bloomington. The Hilltoppers, coached by Jeff Brohm, were 2-0 themselves and expected to contend for their conference crown.

After all was said and done the Hoosiers were half way to bowl eligibility with the 38-35 win and found a budding star on defense in freshman safety Jonathan Crawford. So here is a look back at our wrap up from week three of 2015.
2015 Indiana Hoosier Football Season Rewind

It has been three-plus weeks since the Hoosiers walked off the field at Ross-Ade Stadium with a third straight bronze “I” to link to the chain on the Old Oaken Bucket and a bowl bid to fulfill. Now we know the Hoosiers next game will be on Dec. 26th at the New Yankee Stadium (Yes, it is still New Yankee Stadium) in the Pinstripe Bowl against the Duke Blue Devils from the Atlantic Coast Conference. So, let’s refresh how the Hoosiers actually ended up playing in a bowl in what looks to be a balmy 60-degree New York City.
