What: Purdue Boilermakers at Indiana Hoosiers

When: Saturday, November 26 at Noon

Where: Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, IN

How to Watch: The game will be broadcast on ESPNU. You can also listen to the game on the IU Radio Network with the legendary Don Fischer on the call.

What’s at Stake: The Indiana Hoosiers are attempting to reach bowl eligibility for the second straight season, the last time that occurred was 1990-1991. In addition, Indiana is trying to win the Old Oaken Bucket for the fourth straight season. That would equal the longest streak for the Hoosiers in the lengthy rivalry’s storied history. So, what’s at stake? A bowl berth, the Bucket and bragging rights…not much more needs to be said.

Rivalry Week is the best week in college football. Fans can throw out the records and just get into their team’s game with their rival school. The Hoosiers have one of the better rivalries in the Big Ten with Purdue in the Old Oaken Bucket Game, a tradition that dates back to 1925. This year the Hoosiers are looking to continue their run of dominance over the Boilermakers with a fourth straight Bucket win, a win that would send IU back to a bowl game for the second consecutive season. Here is what the Hoosiers will have to do to beat the Boilermakers.

For the second straight season, the Indiana Hoosiers enter the Old Oaken Bucket game with a record of 5-6, needing a victory over the Purdue Boilermakers (3-8) to earn consecutive bowl berths for the first time since 1990-1991. It is Senior Day and the Hoosiers are attempting to win the Old Oaken Bucket for the fourth straight season, a streak that has only been achieved by Indiana on one other occasion (early 1940s). On the other sideline, Purdue will not be going to a bowl game and they will have a new head coach when the 2017 season kicks off. On paper, only one team has anything to play for but IU knows the Boilers will show up determined to take the Bucket back to West Lafayette and spoil their rival’s season.
