The Indiana Hoosiers will welcome in the 10th ranked Michigan State Spartans for homecoming on Saturday at Memorial Stadium. The Spartans sit at 6-0, which is quite the turnaround from last season and much of that success is attributed to transfer running back Kenneth Walker III who finds himself on some Heisman Trophy watch lists.
2021 IU Linebackers Preview: Micah McFadden Looks to Lead Defense

With the season approaching rapidly, the Hoosier’s roster is taking shape, including the Linebacker position. IU’s linebacker core is led by Micah McFadden who was put on the Butkus award watch list for the season. McFadden will look to lead this group for the season.
“I expect a lot from them personally, I’ve always said you’re only as good as your linebackers defensively and if you want to be good on defense, you have to have great linebackers and we have a great room,” head coach Tom Allen said in a press conference last week. “They’re not just great players, they’re great people and just great leaders.”
Tiawan Mullen and Micah McFadden Named to Nagurski Award Watch List

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana senior linebacker Micah McFadden and junior cornerback Tiawan Mullen have been selected to Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List, the Football Writers Association of America announced on Tuesday morning. This marks the third watch list appearance for both McFadden (Bednarik, Butkus) and Mullen (Bednarik, Thorpe).

The last time fans saw the Indiana Hoosiers at Memorial Stadium was in a rain soaked loss against the Michigan Wolverines on November 23, 2019. Since that time the Hoosiers have gone 7-3 with major home victories against Penn State and Michigan with nothing but friends and family in the seats. That will change in 2021 as the Hoosiers are opening Memorial Stadium to 100-percent capacity. Hoosier players are ready for 52,929 fans to pack the Rock and they have a message for the Hoosier faithful.

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana senior linebacker Micah McFadden and junior cornerback Tiawan Mullen landed on the watch list for the 27th annual Chuck Bednarik Award powered by Mammoth Tech, presented annually to the outstanding defensive player in college football, the Maxwell Football Club announced on Monday morning. Mullen is on the list for the second time in as many years.

Micah McFadden Named to Preseason All-American Team

One of the anchors of Indiana’s defense has been named to the Walter Camp Football Foundation Preseason All-American team. Micah McFadden, senior linebacker for the Hoosiers, was one of six linebackers to be given a spot as he was selected on the second team. The honor comes after an outstanding 2020 season that saw him named to All-American teams by Phil Steele and the Associated Press. He led the Hoosiers with 58 tackles, six sacks and 10.5 tackles for loss along with a pair of interceptions.
