The Hoosiers matchup against Iowa for homecoming weekend in Bloomington and it is a huge game because they have the ability to win it but they need to do a lot of things right. If the offensive and defensive pieces come together like they have a couple times this season, Bloomington will be a happy place, but if they struggle to produce on offense and get stops on defense, not so much.

After Iowa and Indiana’s Week Six matchups, both teams left with two main storylines. For Iowa, it was the learning experience for their young group of cornerbacks. As for Indiana, they saw the emergence of the vertical passing game led by their wide receivers. Now looking forward to Week Seven, the two units that made the headlines will be matched up against each other. The winner of this matchup to watch may just be on the winning team when Saturday’s contest comes to a close.

Mid-October means homecoming games around college football and the Hoosiers are hosting the Hawkeyes for their homecoming on October 13th. Iowa and Indiana have not met on the gridiron since 2015 when the Hawkeye knocked off the Hoosiers 35-27 at Memorial Stadium. Iowa leads the series 44-28-4 with the last Hoosier win coming in 2012 in Bloomington.

We continue to examine Indiana’s 2018 opponents as we draw closer to the beginning of the season on September 1st at Florida International. Today we will preview Indiana opponent’s wide receivers. Receiver can be an interesting position to analyze because quarterback play has so much to do with receiver statistics. Historically, wide receiver has been a position the Big Ten has struggled to produce first-round NFL talent; the Big Ten has only had two receivers taken in the first round of the NFL Draft since 2007, including this past year when Maryland’s DJ Moore was selected 24th overall to the Carolina Panthers. Nonetheless, this is how we see the talent stacking up for the 2018 season.
