The 2020 Hoosier Huddle Countdown is moving right along. We are 66 days away from the scheduled kickoff of the 2020 season. Today’s countdown profile is a redshirt sophomore beast of an offensive lineman that won the high school rugby national championship: Aidan Rafferty.

Name – Aidan Rafferty

Position – Offensive Line

Hometown – Redshirt Sophomore from Kensington, Md

Height – 6’6”

Weight – 305 pounds

Rafferty came to Indiana in 2018 and redshirted his first year, earning scout player of the week in the Michigan State and Michigan weeks. Rafferty then played four games in the 2019 season, putting in work while he was in. Rafferty will be in the same boat as some of the other young offensive linemen due to the loss of some pretty valuable seniors. The 6’6” OL will have some large shoes to fill along with the likes of Matthew Bedford, Caleb Jones, Harry Crider, Britt Beery, and more. The success of the offensive line, however, is built for success long term. It’s been proven that some of the young guys, including Rafferty, have more than enough talent to step into bigger roles in the future with a lot of hard work.

Rafferty had a decorated high school career, not only in football but in rugby and basketball as well. He was ranked the no. 39 offensive lineman prospect nationally, and the no. 3 offensive lineman in Washington D.C. As a team captain, he was named first-team Washington Post All-Met Honors, and was able to be a part of the All-USA District of Columbia team as a senior.
