I just love waking up to a golf major in progress!

Who are you pulling for? Phil's off to a good start.  I don't want to see any of the Euro Ryder Cup loudmouths do well.

Who am I pulling for? "Mericans. Too close to the Ryder Cup for me not to, but I do love the British and Scottish Opens. Way more interesting style of play.

As for the Ryder Cup, 4 months ago, I thought we'd get trounced. Lately several Americans are showing some life and seems like many of the Euros have taken a step back, plus it's on US soil. Should at least be interesting to watch.

My problem is waking up in the middle of the night to see how my fantasy golf teams are doing.  I used to pull all nighters just to watch throughout the night.  The Open and Masters are like X-Mas for me.

Fantasy golf?  Is that for money?  It seems pretty degenerate, but then again I'm neither a fantasy guy or a gambling guy.

Waking up at 4AM sucks, but once we get to Saturday, anyone contending to win tees off when I am awake anyway.

I love watching links golf though

Oh, you should visit the Douchebag Fantasy Golf thread.  We've been playing for a while. @hooky

The buried second ball on the shot by Rory has to be one of the most bizarre things I have ever seen in a major.

Yea I thought for a moment his actual ball caught something and went backwards.

Odds of that happening must be like one in a billion(s).

I enjoy watching the Scottish and British Opens, but Scheffler is a ratings killer. One of the most boring majors I remember in recent years. If he keeps on, I think they should make him remove all even #d clubs from his bag.

What's crazy is that when Tiger would dog walk the field, everyone thought it was good for TV ratings.  When Scheffler does it, we're bored.

True, but Tiger helped the PGA, in a similar fashion as C Clark does the WNBA; she's a draw regardless of the outcome. I've watched a couple of her games this year and have no idea how the team is doing. Tiger brought in a couple of new spheres of viewers due to his age and ethnicity. He made golf "cool", had the "it" factor and overpowered the fields. Scheffler has none of that. Seems like a nice guy, but heck, he's young, and looks much older. I was shocked when they said he's only 29.

I am excited that several Americans are suddenly playing better. Had no idea who Gotterup was 2 weeks ago, and now he has to be a serious captain's pick contender at the very least. I thought we'd get blown out 3 months ago and with it being here, I think we might even be a slight betting favorite at this point. Ryder Cup is usually good viewing.

Scheffler doesn't often put himself in a position to have to 'scramble' to make a crazy recovery. Just consistent, and that seems boring. Plus he's not a fired up fist pumper.  Just workmanlike, always.

It will help if he were to get a consistent rival, but with the PGA-LIV split, it's hard to see one.

@socks-shorts-1-2-3-swish A rival would be great, but I'd say it's Rory or bust, and when he's playing his best, I think they're pretty equal, but Rory's game has been off as SS has returned to form.

I understand the guys that went to LIV for the payday, but it's hard not to say, the lack of regular comp has made them worse. Who is the most dominant LIV golfer right now?

Yes.  And this year we get the Long Island crowd at Bethpage, which could be wild, they are not going be well behaved… at all.  I’m sure the Euros will be crying about that… too bad!

U-S-A!!!

Rory is such a little bitch & I’d love to see him suffer, but I hope our crowds don’t overdo it
