rodeo is always on at least one of the TVs, usually a lot of them, every time you go to a sports bar. Not kidding, the sports bar closest to me has had the rodeo on every time I've been there in the past month. Usually, on the main screen and usually with the sound. A cowboy there today told me there's generally a rodeo going on somewhere every day. I did not know this, and I have no reason to doubt the guy, though I suspect sometimes they're showing a replay of a rodeo. Also, usually a few guys in the bar/restaurant (also my new wing joint) are wearing cowboy hats. The rodeo on today must be hosted or sponsored by Karl Malone since his name was in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Not that I don't like seeing some bronco busting and bull riding now and then, or a good-looking girl doing a barrel race, but I had them change the screen in front of me to ESPN, which they did. They had an NFL preview show on. 😉

I'm definitely living in the west.

Wing joint?  Are you kidding?   It’s not the west unless you can order Rocky Mountain oysters.

Are those actually on the menu in Colorado? This wings joint has a lot of stuff on the menu but no Rocky Mountain Oysters. 😉

@co-hoosier coh if you had one town to make your annual Colorado town for a little boy what would it be.  A place you could go every year year after year and a kid would love it.  I’m thinking telluride. Could get to the train and all that. Walkable. No driving.  Lots to do.  What would you pick.

Lots of great choices.

Id put Glenwood Springs at the top. Humungous hot springs pool plus nearby mountain top amusement park.  Good river rafting but not this year.

Frisco with easy access to ski area activities would be good. Several alpine coasters near by.  Copper mountain supposedly the longest in country.

Estes Park for loads of family touristy stuff + Rocky Mountain National Park.

Steamboat Springs also has hot springs, more horseback activities there.

@co-hoosier they do have them in Arizona. Google says the closest is about 25 miles away, outside city limits. Mormon Lake Lodge Cabin Rentals, RV Park, Campground | AZ

@co-hoosier no Estes park.  No skiing either. I hate skiing.  I hate winter. Summer coh.

Glenwood springs?  Walkable. Kid fun?  Better than telluride?

Telluride is more of an adult town imo.  But probably one of the most scenic of any mountain town.  Summers at ski areas are much more kid oriented. For example copper has alpine coasters, go carts, electric boats, zip line and a giant obstacle course.  Chairlift rides too.

The Glenwood hot springs is hard to beat if the kid likes water, tube slides etc.
