Coe was the kind of racist jerk only prison can make. Haggard chilled back out. Coe never did.
I went to a party back in the early 90's. Back then, following my "teachings", had no problem telling black, jew, hell even honky cracker jokes and thought nothing of it other than it was just a damn joke based on standard stereotypes (that still exist). They were playing a lot of Coe's black label stuff and even I cringed it was so bad.
I'm pretty sure most artist back then had some off color stuff. My question was more about his more main stream music. He had some good stuff. I am also sure that the outlaw country gang were NOT saints.
If men were any more stupid, we would have breed for the extinction of women. Proof yet again that WE are the best thing they have going for them.
