not a lot new except for SCORE Act specifics and some $ numbers
The “thank you”’s get old
long but worth a listen if you like college sports
Here's a question and thought:
does ANYBODY in the NBA minor leagues make NIL money? The kind of money our OL and QB guys get? Nope. Why? Because their “name, image and likeness” value is enhanced/created/higher BECAUSE of their connection to a school.
What is the non-$ value to a kid to be a part of a school community? Doing “college kid” things and “Bloomington” things? Worth REQUIRING?

Wilkerson told an interviewer recently he hadn't been on campus all year. No, I am not kidding.
Somethings need to be fixed/changed for sure, but that "round table" is just a bunch of old shrivs who got us into this mess because they are greedy.

Expound on that. What the hell are you trying to say?
The nurse here at The Home reminded me the days of the student athlete ended over five decades ago.
Heck, today a college football guard with no future in the NFL can make .more money without attending a college class than he will make in the real world.
The nurse??? @hoot are you holding out on us? WE NEED PICS!!!!The nurse here at The Home reminded me the days of the student athlete ended over five decades ago.

Anything in a 2 piece?
A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"
@bradstevens my reference to "The Home" and attending nurse goes back to a family wedding reception dinner some eight years ago whereby I was extolling on the virtues of eating asparagus.
Bored by my rhetoric a 72 year old nephew suggested (given it was beyond 7 pm) the following..."Shouldn't you be back at the home".
@hoot You've got a now 80 year-old nephew? God bless you, man, and keep eating that asparagus!

My whole life has been assisted living.
I blame my handlers.
@myteamisonthefloor your observations remind me of a couple of sayings...
No man is a island.
It isn't how much you know, but who you know.
I do not get the problem. University NIL is capped. IU isn't paying directly all this money, just $23 million over all dports. If private entities pay, which is happening, why would IU care? If that is too much, make athletes employees and sign a collective bargaining agreement.
I think the SEC and B10 would like to pay more. I could easily see SEC leaving the NCAA in football, creating a far larger cap, and have their own season and championship. I don't know the B10 could pull it off.
Rumor has it, her recent search history includes "Is assisted suicide legal in Indiana?" and "Can the U.S. extradite from Canada now?"@bradstevens my reference to "The Home" and attending nurse goes back to a family wedding reception dinner some eight years ago whereby I was extolling on the virtues of eating asparagus.

I am sure those supporting free enterprise and opposing government overreach will be angry about the EO making all sorts of limits on college sports. Now, if we MUST have this, I recommend adding these two. No coach, none, may make more than double the highest-paid professor on campus. No Athletic Director may make more than double the highest paid Dean on said campus. Why do we want these people to make vast amounts, but have severe limits on athletes?
