People that shouldn’t be voting?
And also people that should be voting, but don't want an Alex Pretti experience

How does one prove citizenship and a right to vote with a Real ID? I don't believe they do.
Required Documentation Checklist for real id:
You must bring original or certified documents (not photocopies) to your appointment:
Proof of Identity/Lawful Status (1 Document): U.S. Birth Certificate (original/certified), valid U.S. Passport, Certificate of Naturalization, or Permanent Resident Card.
Social Security Number (1 Document): Social Security card, W-2 form, or 1099 form.
Residency (2 Documents): Utility bill, lease agreement, mortgage statement, or bank statement displaying your name and physical address.
Name Change (If Applicable): Certified marriage certificate, divorce decree, or court order if your current name differs from your identity document
---
So if you have already registered to vote and if you show your real id when you vote, you are good to go.
Not from a legal perspective...
It’s a question we hear constantly in our practice, and honestly, the confusion is completely understandable. You go to the DMV, provide a mountain of paperwork, and walk out with a new driver's license or ID card marked with a star. It feels official. It feels substantial. So, does that REAL ID prove citizenship?
Let’s cut straight to the chase with the answer our team gives clients every single day: No. It absolutely does not. This isn't a minor detail or a bit of legal trivia; it's a fundamental distinction with serious implications for everything from employment verification to international travel. Misunderstanding the purpose of a REAL ID can lead to significant, completely avoidable complications. We've seen it happen. And as a law firm that has been navigating the intricate landscape of immigration law since 1981, we want to clear the air once and for all.
Plus here is a recent court case on it:
Only after being cuffed, Plaintiff stated that he had identification in his pocket. He
was then brought to stand by the government vehicles. A subsequent search of his pocket by the
HSI Special Agent located Plaintiff’s wallet, containing Plaintiff’s REAL ID-compliant Alabama
driver’s license, as well as a second driver’s license. The HSI Special Agent needed to further
verify his U.S. citizenship because each state has its own REAL ID compliance laws, which may
provide for the issuance of a REAL ID to an alien and therefore based on HSI Special Agent
training and experience, REAL ID can be unreliable to confirm U.S. citizenship.
My sister passed last October, but she was wheel chair bound in a Medicaid nurse home. She had a "real id". But to vote she would have had to get her marriage certificate from wherever and take that and her real ID to get a new ID all because you don't believe what even Heritage Foundation ways, there aren't mass illegals voting.
ID laws are fine, but this extra step that only impacts women is crazy. Let's even it out, everyone married must present a marriage certificate, full stop.
The requirement for having a SS number to get a real id is a pretty high bar. Some non-citizens seeking employment can get a SS number but their number flags them as a non-citizen worker, so if the SS# is cross-checked with ssa.gov then I am not seeing a loophole. That cross-checking is up to the state though

Pretty bigoted statement Marv. Of course, you’re the same guy that thinks white Christian’s Nationalists are more dangerous than Muslims & that the next Thomas Edison will come from the Somali community.😆

Define “mass illegals”. How many are too many? Do you think that the holes that allow for a few now will not be exploited to allow for a lot later? Why do you subscribe to an all or nothing solution, whereas the same criteria exists for able bodied folks as those with disabilities?
Easy, don’t jump into LEO proceedings.🙂
And don't make casting a vote a law enforcement proceeding

No police watching for speeders, no security at airports, etc either then, right?
Pretty simple. Almost everyone wants a voter ID system, but the GOP plan to limit acceptable ID to birth certificates and passports will make it harder for many people to comply and result in lower voter participation by large numbers of legal US citizens.
Put together a system with free ID that doesn't systematically make it difficult to vote (examples: persons in nursing homes, persons who are homeless, person too poor to pay any fees to secure needed ID) and it will have bipartisan support, even though the rate of people voting illegally is probably a lot lower than the rate of felony convictions by US Presidents.
Florida requires photo ID and I support that. But FL accepts a "real ID" Florida driver's license, and if you don't have a driver's license they have a list of acceptable alternatives. All states doing that would be a great plan.

Because to get your real ID, you had to provide the following
- Proof of Identity and Lawful Status (1 Document):
- Valid U.S. Passport or Passport Card.
- Original/Certified U.S. Birth Certificate.
- Certificate of Naturalization or Citizenship.
- Permanent Resident Card.
- Foreign Passport with valid U.S. Visa and I-94 form.
- Proof of Social Security Number (1 Document):
- Social Security Card.
- W-2 form or 1099 form.
- Pay stub with name and SSN.
- Proof of Residency (2 Documents):
- Documents must show your name and current residential address (P.O. Boxes are generally not accepted).
- Examples: Utility bill, bank statement, mortgage statement, or lease agreement.
- Name Change Documents:
- If your name on your identity documents differs from your current name, you must provide legal proof of the name change (e.g., marriage certificate, divorce decree, or court order).
The only reason to not allow a real ID driver's license for voting is because the goal is really voter suppression.

If you have other acceptable ID to prove proof of citizenship other than those laid out in the SAVE act we’re all ears.
Why do we have to cater to lowest common denominator morons that can’t produce a BC or passport?
Still, the bill mandates states provide pathways for these LCD morons to register anyway. So your whole post is nonsense.

no brain cells for you...
oh wait, we're there already

I gave it to you. Have a real id driver's licence and check the SS# with ssa.gov. Many states, including FL, already do it. Then if you don't have a driver's licence, have an alternative no-cost state-issued id while also requiring a SS# be presented. Have a SS card is a big deal. The only non-citizens who can get a SS# are those issues one for long-term work purposes, and they are issued a number that identifies them as a non-citizen.
This isn't really that hard. Dozens of states have solid voter ID systems. Make the states that don't replicate what already works well in other states.

In 1933 the German police and paramilitary stood guard at polling stations. You seem to like that idea, and citizens routinely asked, "papers please".
