A good read if you have 10 minutes. I think moderate Democrats and RINOs should acknowledge this if they ever want to be in control again for longer than a term.
So the argument against Trump being right isn't simply that I don't want him to be right. It's deeper. It's that I'm fearful of the world we live in if he is right.
Logically, that's admittedly no better. Whether it scares me or not, the facts are the facts. Trump isn't more wrong just because it's scary. I admit that and accept it.
But I do think we should be very reticent to push the idea that Trump should be right. That's what I fear more than anything. Not that Trump's version of the world might accidentally be accurate, but rather those who think we should take positive action to make it so.

Like the one that's given us relative peace and prosperity since WW2. Great powers distrustful of each other, but unwilling to engage in outright hostilities because we are all making too much money off each other, backed up by the military threat of large global alliances who can count on each other to stand up to any foe that steps out of line of the world order.

You think any of that will have any impact on the current condition of our country? You think our biggest issues are foreign relations?

Isn't that what this entire thread is about? Why are you changing the subject?

The problem is most of the "we" aren't making too much money or getting rich.

One of my major gripes with the Trump era is that many of his voters seem to believe that the Pax Americana benefits anyone but America.
I’d argue the opposite, I’d say we’re the greatest beneficiaries.
Oddly, Trump’s actions to that end are more in line with people like me and Lindsey Graham than his isolationist supporters.
@snarlcakes relative to what? Our food stamps recipients live better than the upper middle class in Europe.

Relative to the average amount of labor it costs to buy houses, education, healthcare, and etc. Being better than Europoors isn't an accomplishment.
@snarlcakes why always whining like a Bernie bro? All you dirty populists are the same.

There is only one of us that wants centralized institutions to bail us out when risk kicks in and it ain't me comrade.
@snarlcakes I do love me some central bankers. One of man's best inventions, up there with fire and the wheel
