I haven't clicked the link or read anything about this, so I'm not speaking to the facts of this case, but I will say only that I do think schools are expected to balance parental rights with child welfare. Telling the parents about the gender identity of a student may not be in the best interest of the child.
You "may" be correct about the narrowly focused underlined above, but I would counter that considering not even just a parent's rights but also and more importantly their responsibilities and obligations, that it's never in the best interests of the parents for the school to keep this information from them. In fact, I would say they should be duty bound to share this information as they would any other physical, emotional or psychological observation regarding a minor child in their temporary charge.

I don't understand the relevance. Are you implying that this lawsuit was fabricated by EdWeek? Or that it wasn't vigorously defended against?@unclemark Very true. And it has! Did you experience it with your kids' school?
No, but we had it on good authority it was happening in Washington IN, from an impeccable source... three times removed.
