The allegation that the census was "rigged" by a desire to count undocumented persons is silly. The Constitution, as upheld by Supreme Court rulings, has ALWAYS counted every person living in the country on Census Day, including citizens but also undocumented immigrants and green card holders, where they usually live and sleep.
Representatives shall be apportioned among the several States according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each State
The 14th Amendment doesn't say "whole number of citizens" or "whole number of registered voters" or "whole number of self-made stay-at-home tranny Moms from Carmel"
It could have, but it doesn't.

CBP now confirms that two agents shot Pretti.
The CBP report also indicates that Pretti's gun was taken by an agent and placed in a vehicle. The report does not specify whether the weapon was photographed in place or logged with a documented chain of custody at the scene.
CBS News is now reporting that federal investigators have no documented chain of custody for Pretti's handgun, with officials saying the firearm was placed on the seat of a vehicle rather than sealed in a required plastic evidence bag and labeled with standard identifying details such as date, item description, and handler name.
What a shitshow.
@big-ryan 40% approval is probably enough to win re-election - in this political milieu. I suspect Trump and Republicans should be pretty happy about that approval. See below.
A record-high 45% of U.S. adults now identify as political independents, according to January 2026 Gallup polling, with that figure matching previous highs from 2023 and 2024. This surge is largely driven by younger voters, with over half of those under 30 identifying as independents. Independents now outnumber both Democrats (27%) and Republicans (27%).
I'm skeptical of polling HOWEVER, if it is accurate, I am wrong, which in this world is almost never, in my beliefs about the parties and voters. It's not that everyone swung to the fringes it's simply that hte parties have and they do not accurately reflect the voters. They reflect their own personal ideologies and not those of constituents. Ohio guy and others I fight with on this topic woudl be right.
Shame the system wouldn't allow for a viable third party
Traditionally, independents are liars who vote heavily Republican. But you probably shouldn't take it for granted if Trump's approval ratings are dropping, because he's a big draw for them. I'm not sure there is any other Republican who can pull them like he does.
According to eyewitnesses and supported by video, after shooting him 10 times and backing off for a short while, the agents returned to the dead body. Laughing, they cut through his clothes with scissors. Not to render any aid, they were counting the bullet holes in the body, laughing some more, apparently resolving bets among the agents as to how many times they "got him". Like they were deer hunting.

@boogie OMFG nightmare. I seriously don't even like thinking about it. It worries me very much. Mine is so painfully ditzy. She'll have Chic Fil A with two dipping sauces in the passenger seat, ear buds in, scrolling her phone, while putting on makeup with seven girls in the car all while trying to follow GPS because she doesn't know where anything is and is 40 minutes late
About a month ago, we had a pretty nice little snow storm that came through that put some good ice down. My daughter left for work and about 5 minutes later calls me saying she was in a ditch and needed help. I go and find that she had slid into a ditch because she was going 50 fucking miles an hour and started to slide when she hit the breaks.
Thank God she didn't hit anyone that time. Had to get a wrecker to pull her out, that's how far she was in. This is a whole different vehicle from those two previous by the way.
I thought my oldest was the worst driver ever, but #2 is making a strong case for that one spot.
Ecuador claims ICE agents attempted to enter their consulate in Minneapolis. I thought everyone knew consulates and embassies are verboten. If true, I guess someone failed 8th grade social studies.

Too many of these agents are grossly incompetent. And it's no wonder.
Some new ICE recruits have shown up to training without full vetting
ICE error meant some recruits were sent into field offices without proper training, sources say
His poll numbers were bad before the 2020 election too, which is why the election deniers shock at him losing the 2020 election is so dumb. The election went as the polls indicated it would go.Approval ratings aren't looking good.
@aloha-hoosier Wow. He's underwater (RCP average) on EVERY major issue (including double-digits on the economy). I'm not sure I've ever seen that before.
Might wanna do a little more research there pal. Shit about to hit the fan.

Finally, productive discussion and a sensible approach.
LOL! Wasting taxpayer money on lawfare and stupidity. They counted the votes three times in Georgia and had an audit, a state run by Republicans with a Republican Governor and Attorney General. Trump lost each and every time. He lost the election in 2020 - just as the polls indicated that he would. This is a sideshow for morons. By morons, I mean every single person that thinks that Trump lost the election in 2020 due to voter fraud. Every single one. You election deniers are a huge embarrassment to every intelligent Republican. His poll numbers were bad before the 2020 election too, which is why the election deniers shock at him losing the 2020 election is so dumb. Between this and Bondi demanding MN hand over their voter rolls, we're seeing the beginning of their attempt to federalize the 2026 midterms.
@unclemark Warrants are pretty damning. Sad part is I don’t trust Dems not to cheat. I don’t trust the Trump admin not to destroy and/or doctor evidence once they seize what they want
I like many Americans do not trust either of the parties.
Tom Homan seems to be doing a good job of calming things down, which doesn't mean that he's not going to continue the mission of rounding up illegal immigrants.

This has Trump's fingerprints all over it. The man won the presidency in 2024 but is still pissed at Kemp and Raffensperger for, respectively, not endorsing Trump's election denial and not caving under Trump's "find me 11,780 votes" pressure after the 2020 election. Trump has done many good things but, honestly, he's a petty, vindictive man-child and that will be his legacy.
"The Justice Department is part of the executive branch, subordinate to the president, who answers to the Constitution and the people. This makes for tension: prosecutors are professionally bound to follow the law but also are subject to the president’s directives.
The tension has been resolved over time by the norm that, while presidents guide the DOJ’s enforcement priorities as to subject matter (e.g., more emphasis on border enforcement, even if that means less on, say, public corruption), the administration of justice in individual cases proceeds without political interference — conducted by theoretically nonpartisan prosecutors, applying the law as written and checked by the independent judiciary.
Trump is grossly disregarding this practice."
