@sharinincarmel Very few people think the answer is to go back to the Biden, open borders, approach.  The answer DOES NOT have to be, and SHOULD NOT be, Gestapo like ICE agents patrolling the streets like masked vigilante gangs.  Its beyond absurd.  If that's the only effective answer to all this, I pick open borders, and just heavy investment in police recruitment and training.  They're spending big money on all these ICE efforts.  Use that money to recruit, train, incentivize actual police officers to help out with immigration efforts.  Find and arrest an illegal with, or committed a felony = automatic deportation.  Find and arrest an illegal with any sort of drug related, or violence related crime = deportation.  Find and arrest any other illegal = citizenship probation, some sort of tracking and monitoring, until they can work through the legal immigration process.

They're not solving the real problems like inner city gun violence, meth/cocaine/fentanyl dealing and use, stuff like that...  Its a political exercise, its a show of force.  The people they're targeting are no more dangerous than all the other flavors of criminals in our country.  Latinos make up a very big percentage of our populace... of course they're going to find some bad people.  But that's not solely who they're targeting and going after.

What's the next group that the ICE agents could start targeting?  What if they show up in Carmel and start harassing you and your loved ones?

@iunorth I agree with most of this. Biden let in so many that we have to do this to some degree. Personally I agree that I’d prefer it be local but unfortunately you hit the nail on the head. Local cops are even worse.  So until we agree that we need to make a massive investment in better quality law enforcement we’re going to continue to have problems.

Why wouldn't it be?  And why does it matter?  He walks around her car and videos her license plate.  If I was trying to get a person's license plate, videoing it is the method I would use.

It's great when you have the license plate recorded.  You can absolutely nail her for any crimes committed.  She can be easily tracked down.

You don't even have to then shoot her in the face, shoot her in the face AGAIN, and shoot her in the face YET AGAIN. Well, unless that's what your bosses want you to do to people who you suspect might be shitlibs!

@snarlcakes Blockheads!!  Of course we’ll have Tini hour!   What’s on the menu for your distinguished crew?

Mrs. Washburn I like myself a good dirty martini (vodka @goat).  I'll probably stick to just beers and limit the food intake.  I have to keep this body somewhat bangable for the wife.

@boogie body cam

It says cell phone in the tweet.

I know.  I was just answering your question. It was the from the guys body cam.

You should watch the video because you can clearly see in the windows he's recording with his phone.

Doesn't seem like that would be protocol, no?

Why wouldn't it be?  And why does it matter?  He walks around her car and videos her license plate.  If I was trying to get a person's license plate, videoing it is the method I would use. Writing it down on a pad of paper takes more time, is not as good as evidence, and you never know when a #2 pencil is going to break on you 😉

Isn't that what body cameras do?

Boogie, I don't care.  Ask Grok.

@iunorth

Part of the problem is the sanctuary city nonsense. Obama was the "deporter in chief" b/c local law enforcement used to notify ICE when they arrested an illegal immirgrant. That stopped. Why? The disconnect between local law enforcement and the feds is partly to blame for why ICE are know patrolling the streets of large cities. I agree it's not the way it should work but this isn't entirely on the feds.

I think the former head of Homeland security, interviewed by the BBC, knows the guidelines.  I shared them.

But you of course know better than him, even in your state of hormonal flux.

I've seen what the former Homeland security head said and I've seen a handful of either current or retired LEOs comment. Most people have said a combination of what's been said here. The people who are or have been in a position to know all point to this killing be a result of little to no real training.

And the one that is at room temperature today, still regret her decision to be a Left extremist.

"But she died doing what she loved", correct? How about you pour one out for her "courage".

Should protesters in vehicles be allowed to accelerate their vehicles and drive directly at law enforcement officers or ICE with no fear of being stopped by deadly force?

Hey there, I meant to ask you.. How you doin? I'm happy to see you in here. Where you from?

After the 3rd gunshot erupted without the officer putting the phone down and she was dead, then double dead, then perhaps had much of her head blown off for good measure, a voice one one of the agents loudly yelled “Fucking bitch” as the undriven car rolled away and crashed.

His Mom must be proud. Damn shitlibs need their heads blown off, right? Deer slugs & 12 gauge next time.  MERIKA!

The fact that this ICE agent might have had little to no training in this area has nothing to do with how he acted and ended up killing someone? I'm not sure I follow what you're saying here.

What specific training would have made a difference?

In a shoot-don’t shoot scenario, instinct and instantaneous risk assessments rule.

Not getting in front of a moving car would be a pretty big one.

Did he get hurt?

@co-hoosier he put himself in that position. What reason was there? Don't go anywhere toward the front or back of a car. They have more limited authority, I was reading stories that they can't go out and catch non-immigration criminals. So what was their goal here? They had no indication she was a hardened criminal, they had her car and plates. Why escalate?

The issues are more procedural, not something like murder. Think back to the Jan 6 shooting, you pointed out the agent could have retreated. So could this guy. I saw an FBI firearms guy said they always teach not to use your firearm in this situation. Get out of the way. That is it. Firing from the front in no way stops a vehicle. Proof, this vehicle sped up after she was dead. He then said firing from the side isn't allowed as you are no longer in danger.

Then we get into other procedures. A doctor lived in one of the houses and was prohibited from going to the car though he insisted. The ambulance was not let through, the paramedics had to get out a block away.

If she complies, she is home to put her kids to bed that night.  End of story.
